Whats News?
This is just a taster of what we get up to, and what is happening in the near future. Our social events compliment the Lodge meetings.
G7 2025 Festival walk
On May 15th this year Bro Vince Howell took part in the G7 festival walk, Hiking 16 miles from the Masonic Hall Dover, over the White Cliffs and along the coastal path, to the Masonic Hall at Sandwich. Assisted by his ever keen Labrador Ralph, it took them just under six hours to complete the task. “It was a great day for hiking, perfect weather and great company to chat away the miles with.” Organised by the Masons of G7, the event went without a hitch and was well attended. Vince continued “We both enjoyed the events of the day, especially the pint of beer at the end. I raised £500 to go to the 2025 Festival, thanks to all my very generous sponsors.” There are plenty of events for the Festival to profit from, lets hope they are all as successful.
Provincial Boat Race
The Provincial Boat Race was run again this year and what a great day it turned out to be, both weather wise and because of enjoyable opportunity of meeting some new faces, and having a picnic on the beach. We Chose the “Herne Bay Launch point” which proved quite popular with an estimated 20 or so boats being launched alongside the 3 we had bought along. Once the boats which the Kids had made had been set off on their voyage, we made the most of the fantastic weather and even had a dip in the sea. What a great day out it was made even better by one of our boats comming second overall and picking up a very nice cash prize. We will be making the Boat Race a date in the diary for next year.
Master's Dinner Dance
What a great night we all had at Gillingham Golf Club, great food and even better fellowship was had by all. The Worshipful Master and his wife Yvonne welcomed over seventy guests along to the event, which was held at Gillingham Golf Club for the first time. Reception drinks made for a nice start as we got ready to enjoy the evening. This followed by a wonderful meal, and a few thank you speeches, before we danced the night away to the music of “Band of Gold”
We had eighty in attending the event at Gillingham Golf Club, who did a great job and made the evening run smoothly, with our raffle, organised and run by W Bro nick Hunt making a profit of £355.00 a very good amount.
A good night had by all, save the date; 4th November for next year!
